Novak Djokovic and Coach Goran Ivanisevic Part Ways

Ivanisevic's departure after four years marked the end of a successful partnership.

Djokovic, the world's number one player, has won five Grand Slam titles since teaming up with Ivanisevic in 2018.

In a saccharine Instagram post published on Wednesday, Djokovic announced the split, thanking Ivanisevic for his "guidance and support" over the past four years.

"Goran, you have played a vital role in my career," Djokovic wrote. "Your passion, dedication, and humor have made this journey unforgettable. I will always cherish the time we spent together on and off the court."

Ivanisevic, a former Wimbledon champion, was brought in to coach Djokovic after the Serb had endured a difficult 2017 season. The pair enjoyed immediate success, with Djokovic winning Wimbledon and the US Open in 2018. They would go on to win three more Grand Slams together, including the 2021 Australian Open, French Open, and Wimbledon.

Djokovic has not yet announced who will replace Ivanisevic as his coach. However, he is expected to make a decision soon, as he prepares for the upcoming Australian Open.
